Church Under the Stars
Last night I took a trip to Brentor Church on Dartmoor in an attempt to do some astrophotography.
We got up there for sunset which was a bit of a bust and waited for it to get dark so we could shoot the stars.
The night was a bit of a disaster, first of all, I forgot my fully charged battery, but luckily my two spares had just enough juice to last the night, then as the temperature dropped I totally forgot about condensation on my lens, so the hours worth of images I'd been taking for star trails just ended up being blurry. Next time I'll remember to take some hand warmers to put around my lens!!
Still, having taken one shot for the foreground I rescued another shot of the stars on their own and blended the two together for this shot. My camera really isn't up to the task of proper astrophotography, I always get too much noise so the rest of my shots of from the evening were a bit duff.
Still, it was awesome to be sat on top of Brentor with the stars above us, we saw two passes of the ISS and several satellites fly overhead, it was worth it just for that. ... See MoreSee Less
